Control of APC Logistics goes offshore
One of the last remaining independent freight forwarders, APC Logistics, has been acquired by US industry major CH Robinson for $300 million.
It follows the sale of other independents in the industry such as Gluck’s which was bought by Toll Holdings several years ago now as was Halford International by NZ’s Mainfreight, with Damco, the logistics arm of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, acquiring Pacific Network (PacNet) more recently.
The privately owned APC Logistics has annual revenue of $335 million. Headquartered in Melbourne, APC Logistics has 300 employees and several offices across Australia and NZ.
